The Final Tasks

Hey there everyone,

finally after 17 weeks the time has come to post the final tasks for our three remaining contestants. I am really excited and I cannot wait to view your entries, also I can tell you the live Great Finale is going to be amazing!
The official poster for the MMM Finale Cycle 2 will be out soon.

By the way there will be another poll for who you think deserves to win the second cycle of MMM. The poll will be released right after this post is published (the one with the biggest fanbase will get the most applause in the final).

Now let's take a look at your tasks:

Part 1: Ad Campaign

It's time to do an ad campaign, doing this you have not to add any slogans or logos, the product should speak for itself! You are going to do pose with a bag, named the gorgeous Skull Box Clutch by Alexander McQueen.

In the ad campaign the bag should stand in the focus, make them stand out of the shoot and they should match the outfit, the pose, the makeup and the rest of the graphic: fierce, powerful, crazy, extraordinary.
The clutch doesn't need to have the exact pattern and color of the ones, which are shown in the picture, the shape is the important thing.
Don't forget, your expression should match the theme and the clutch has to be the eyecatcher.

Part 2: Runway Task Prêt-à-porter

So, we didn't do a runway task for long now and we didn't do anything related to prêt-à-porter, which means casual, but still chic. Now I want you to create a prêt-à-porter look and to present it on the runway, which has to fit the current sommer trends and scheme.
The pose, which can be walking or end pose, should underline the outfit and you should create a nice and matching atmosphere and catwalk!

Part 3: Editorial Shoot

Just like last year this is the special gold part of the final tasks.
Each one of you has to portray herself as an iconic character of the current music culture by recreating expression, pose, outfit, look from the given music video.
The background and atmosphere are indeed important, such as the other aspects named above.
Be creative!

Primadonna:
Beth/pavlovagurl as Marina & The Diamonds

Ride:
Flora/Missflora9 as Lana Del Rey

Judas:
Giselle/Aeon_Flux_96 as Lady Gaga

I wish you lots of fun while creating these tasks and I can't wait to see them!

Your final Deadline for the Finale Tasks is:
Monday, 30th June 2014.

If there are any problems with the deadline or if you need more time please tell me!
Good Luck my finalists!

Results The Semifinal Tasks

Hey everyone and welcome to your 6th elimination ceremony,

the time has come to to decide who did the biggest developments throughout the cycle and who deserved to be one of the 3 finalists in the Great Finale of MMM Cycle 2!
Pretty exciting isn't it? ;)

These are the results of our follower's votes:

So we see the majority voted for Giselle (Aeon_Flux_96) and Flora (Missflora9), which makes them the two semifinalists with the biggest fanbase, also we've got a tie here. Virginia (Rei1981) reached 8 votes and unfortunately Beth (pavlovagurl) could only reach 3 votes in total, which makes her the one with the smallest fanbase.

Now I don't want to waste any more time.
Beth, Flora, Giselle and Virginia. Now it's your turn and I'll announce the judgements.

We will start off with Beth and go on in the alphabetical order.

Beth/pavlovagurl

Manda:
The cover is really nice, it's fresh and summer-y, I also really like the layout of the page and also the outfit is actually nice, but I would have taken another print for the skirt. The hair is gorgeous and the face is really cute. I also enjoy the color scheme you've choosen for the overall cover.
Your makeup commercials are good, I really see that you improved your skin shading, which is great! I personally prefer the lavender version, because you look totally faboulus in here. On a less positive note we already reached the semifinal and it's time to create your own hair!
Your style guide is lovely, the outfit is cute, but I'm not a fan of the boots. All in all I love your floral interpretation with the white tee.

Rafael: Ooh your cover is so lovely! I love it, the pose is nice, the outfit looks great and I love the hair! I also like the fact that you are smiling for the cover.
I like your lipstick commercial, especially the slogan, but I think you could have done better. The skin shading is rather simple, the hair is also quite weak and the lipstick itself is blurry.
The style guide graphic on the other hand is great again! Love the shorts, the pose is great and I like the overall flowery theme going on here. Well done Beth!

Cathy:
I LOVE your color scheme, it makes the cover look young and fun to read. The layout is good, too, apart from the black text covering your doll and the texts sound interesting. The skin shading is great and I like the pose. The hand has got three and a half fingers and two and a half nails and the lipstick doesn't go with the rest of the outfit. The hair is an edited stardoll hair which is an absolute NO-GO in a semi-final task. This could have been my favourite cover along Giselle's but you didn't take enough time for the graphic.
I like that you chose dot, the slogan is very cool and the strong lipstick colours fit your doll. The poses and the skin shading are very good in both ads and the makeup fits the lipstick. But why did you use stardoll hair in the one graphic? It makes the graphic look very beginner-like. The hair in the second ad is not good either, a more voluminous hair style would have covered the huge area of bare skin we see now. Overall, great ads with horrible hairstyles!
I like your girly look and the pose, the t-shirt works well with the shorts. I'm not 100% sure of the shoes, but the bag really ruins the nice look. The flowers are a great idea, but the colors aren't doing the outfit any good. Apart from the back, a nice outfit presented very welTania: I really like the cover, very summery alike, the range of colours go pretty well with each other, theres some harsh lines though that Id really like so see them fixed and also some more shading in the clothes.
The first makeup ad seems a bit rushed and awkward, Id like to see an hair of your own as well though the idea and pose are pretty cool. As for the second I think its better, while simple your doll is just gorgeous on it.
I really like the outfit, very summery again and feminine as well, I really like how you styled the shirt with a print, it really makes the whole outfit pop. Well acessorized as well, though I mighy go for another bag, it seems a bit off considering the range of colors and textures.

Flora/Missflora9

Manda: Your cover is indeed an eyecatcher, your doll looks super happy and glamorous. The outfit is a real fashion statement and I like the turquoise leo print. It's a shame the quality and skin shading is really blury, which reduces the enjoyment to look at the cover.
Your makeup commercials are great, I like that you went for two very different looks and thats a really clever way to advertise a makeup brand/product. The first one is really cute and somehow a day makeup, the second one is fierce and a makeup for night.
The outfit you went for in the stlye guide task is okay,it's not my full taste, maybe if you would have removed the belt, would take a casual bag and some cool shoes or maybe boots it would have looked way better.
All in all some good entries.

Rafael: Oh, lovely cover! I really love your smile; you look so fresh and fun. The pose is very experimental and I think it's great to see that you didn't go for a rather simple pose (like standing there, hands and your hips and so on) but you really chose a more difficult pose and that's great! Well, the shading could have been slightly better to make it look even more appealing, but it's alright. And woooow, look at that long hair! That's so sexy I'm not very fond of that font (lol that rhymed), it actually destroys the beauty of the cover a bit.
I like your make-up commercial a lot, especially the second photo! While the first one is rather romantic, this one looks so posh and glamorous. Love it!
The style guide is a simple but steady outfit. It's not the best, but also not the worst. Well done Flora!

Cathy:
What happened? The layout isn't very thought through as there are only 3 texts randomly placed over your doll and the turquoise doesn't work well with the other colours. Your outfit is ok, but the pattern on the skirt isn't the same size in all parts of the skirt which is very confusing. Your shading is good, some parts might have looked better with a darker shading, but there are no visible shading mistakes. Luckily, your hairstyle is nice and your doll looks very happy and sympathic. All in all, I've seen much better work from you.

I love your Transform ads, tey are my favourites! You worked well with different colours and made your doll look very natural despite the makeup. With the two ads, you showed us both day and night makeup which was a clever idea, so well done!
You look very grownup and elegant yet casual in your outfit. I love the skirt, the simple accessories and the hairstyle that adds a pop of color. You used a stardoll hairstyle, which is not perfect, but as this task was to combine a stardoll shirt, I guess that's ok as the hairstyle fits the outfit very well. In my opinion the best styled outfit!

Tania:
Aw I love the cover! Your doll looks so fresh and happy; it at once makes me happy too! I love the outfit you chose, fierce but super elegant and fitting, and the hair go super well with it.
While I totally love the pose, it's be perfect if you'd lean back a bit your doll or maybe just looking a bit more up would help.
The makeup is fierce dolly elegant! I'd buy this makeup for sure; it feels so feminine and attractive in that way! The hair again is so beautiful and how you did the makeup is perfect.
I tell you your 2nd makeup is very nicely done but also you made it very attractive and in that way super sellable. I love the makeup, how you did the hair & clothes, all fits very perfectly, the only thing I would might add would be a darker smoky eye, though how you did it goes well anyhow.
Girl I'm starting to feel awkward to say this all the time but again you did it! You styled your outfit amazingly and in such elegant and feminine way. Love the colors and that awesome hour glass shape, the hair is gorgeous and the makeup really gives the final touch.

Giselle/Aeon_Flux_96

Manda: I absolutely love love love your cover! It's truly perfection, the hair is gorgeous, the dress is amazingly shaded and the color scheme is awesome. Your face is beautiful.
Beautiful makeup commercials, I love that you did two shoots for the same makeup product, I adore the dress or top or whatever in your commercials, the shading is really great. I think the shading of the hair in your first commercial is better than in your second one.
Your style guide outfit is my favorite out of all, the leather jacket and the boots are shaded perfectly once again.
Great job dear Giselle.

Rafael: This. Is. PERFECTION! Giselle, your cover is so flawless; I was totally slayed when I first saw it. Flawless shading, the font is perfect and I love the color scheme! Nothing more to say.
I also like the commercial for Transform, love the background and the whole scheme (which makes up for the fact that you have used the same hand TWICE ... ahem!!).
The style guide is just so amazing. Love the outfit, love the pose and I love the shading! I'm living for those shorts and jacket!! Overall, I'd say your cover shoot is the best out of all tasks and it's nice to see how much you have improved, I am so proud of you!!

Cathy:
Your cover is my absolute favorite! At first glance, there are no differences to a normal Cosmo, the layout is similar and very stylish! The texts are placed at the same parts of the cover and you used two colours that work very well together. Your pose and outfit have a young, stylish touch and the shading is close to perfection. My only concern is the lack of makeup and face shading. Very well done! I love the background of your ads, usually the colour combination is horrible but you made it look good. The graphics themselves are definitely not  your best works in this cycle, maybe even some of the worst. In a closeup, skin shading is a must and you didn't even use any makeup apart from lipstick and mascara. The hair colour isn't working well with the background but the hairstyles are nice. Now to the most important thing, the lips. At first glance, they didn't seem to belong to your doll because they are so huge and shaded very differently than the rest of the graphic. Apart from the fact that they don't fit your face very well, they remind me very much of those Jack posted at the Graphic Vault some time ago (https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYIA3Kco5TLgRH7n9tBZMT1OpAbyDexZo1peTshKcsC4jkFLVXyRlJQeNnwqTf0XzkvmfY3xvr0cwgWElnbiMo16G5n8vJP2Xvvb97QmFUHRa0n4-BFNYwaLXkxB98mnZdxxIRYUmsr3Q/s1600/Screen+Shot+2014-05-07+at+13.19.40.png). In a competition, you should do everything on your own and not claim other work as your own, even if you changed it a bit. I'm disappointed.
Your look is very masculine with the boots and the leather jacket which is in trend at the moment. The outfit itself is nice, just like the pose and the technical aspect, but it would've looked much better with another, more voluminous hairstyle and a stronger makeup. Your hairstyle and makeup are girly and simple which doesn't go well with the strong outfit. Nevertheless a good graphic!

Tania:
Cover shoot This is surely my favorite cover, it is perfection! The shading could not be any better, the dress is so well done that is crazy, and the hair (color & style) fit your doll skin tone awesomely.
Cutie with a pixie! Simple but I like it, though I'd might change a bit the background, while your face attracts me into buying the lipstick, the plain background puts me a bit off.
About your 2nd makeup shot, same as I mentioned above (well now without the pixie part but the bob haircut really gives an elegant touch).
While I do like a lot the upper part (leather jackets go really well with white tees), I'm not totally surely about the shorts and boots. The shorts is actually the color, hale half of it stands out, the other is overlapped by the whiteness of the shirt, so I think maybe on color shorts would flow the best with this outfit. As for the boots, while they're super stylish, I feel like they don't go along all the rest: you've a bit summerish vibe, while the boots are more for the winterish side. I'd maybe go for some gladiator sandals or alike. But overall very nice outfit, it shows character and your own style, which is super important at this point of the competition

Virginia/Rei1981

Manda: I like the cover a lot! The skin shading is nice and the pose is really sexy and playful, the layout is nice, but a paler background would have looked nicer. I actually like the hair but I would have went for a sexier style.
Your makeup commercials are average. The first one is actually nice, the pose is lovely and the makeup is sensual. The hair is okay, boring but shading-wise fine, the collarbone is absolutely awkward though. Unfortunately i don't like your 2nd makeup commercial at all, your doll looks super masculine and the hairstyle doesn't help that a lot. Also the garish red background doesn't fit here at all. I'm slightly disappointed here.
Your style guide doesn't make it better. It's my least favorite outfit, i just feel like it's not really right. Those shoes and pants don't really complement the top and jacket. Also your doll looks once more really masculine and not in a good way. I don't like the hair cut at all.

Rafael: Well, let's start with the positive: I really like your cover! The skin shading is amazing and I also like the dress and that sexy pose. The hair isn't much of my favor, but all in one it's a nice shot.
Well ... and then somehow it gets worse. I don't know but your ad campaign looks totally rushed, like, there's absolutely no concept behind it. It's just simple (if not boring) head shots, and you definitely stayed in your comfort zones considering the hair and make-up. Sorry but I don't like it at all!
The style guide doesn't blow me away either, but I definitely love the rocker girl theme going on here. Some heavy black boots would have been more fitting, though.

Cathy: You went for a very seductive cover and you indeed look sexy! I'm not at all a fan of the finger-to-mouth-pose, it's not something I'd like to see on a serious magazine cover. The dress is nice and fits the overall colour scheme. The shading is nice, but the light seems to come from multiple directions because the shadows in the arms are on opposing sites. Overall, a good graphic that could be a great Cosmo cover with another pose. Your ads are kept very simple both in the fore- and background. I prefer the one with the light background, it has a minimalistic touch to it and the makeup looks good. I find the other one horrible, the red is hurting in the eye and your doll looks like a male doll with a feminine touch. If you advertise a mascara that doesn't mean that this is the only makeup you are allowed to use. The shading is very choppy in both graphics, especially in the neck area, and the hair is too simple. Your graphic looks very rushed, the hands have no nails, the collarbone is very blurred and, again, you chose a short, masculine hairstyle. The combination of the top, the necklace and the jacket is fine, but the pants and the shoes don't look good combined with each other. Your pose idea is nice but it seems as if your doll was falling soon. The background is very cool.

Tania:
You look so amazing in the cover, the shading is really perfect, the dress & hair you chose really give you a great glow and go super well with each other! The color range is super feminine and fierce, the text is very nicely put together, reminds me of a real cover. I don't have much to say though, it's an awesome work as I knew you'd make.
Makeup So simple, yet so captivating it! I really love how you put all together, it just works so well. The shading is great, your doll looks so dreamy that totally catches my eye for a long time. I'd surely buy that lipstick.
Your 2nd makeup...I like it. While the first one is surely my favorite, this one is gorgeous as well. The only thing I'd might change is the background color, it feels it's a bit off and not going so well with the rest of the color range. I love the pixie cut in your doll though, it really brings attention more to your face.
The Outfit is really nice, all goes well together with each other, the coat is a super statement piece that you used very well and without taking attention from the rest. I like how you added the heels since it gives a more elegant/ feminine look while being still edgy, and the accessories (necklace) while simple, it really makes the look complete.

The decision: Who will enter The Great Finale??

The moment has come to reveal our Top 3, the three finalists, who will stand live in the Great Finale, who will wear beautiful clothes and who will do many unique performances.
Now we are going to decide who did the biggest steps throughout the whole cycle and who of you could show us their potential once more.

After a long talk and many discussions and arguements we've come to a decision.

Play the music to underline the final elimination.

Flora, you have been a very good contestant throughout the whole competition. In the beginning I can remember you didn't really stand out of the crowd, you kept restrained and your tasks weren't that of a big deal, but after a short time you became better and better, you climbed up the ladder and reached one of the top stairs. Flora I have to tell you that your semifinal entries were great and you could convince us once more. Flora you are our first finalist!! Congrats, you will have the chance to fight once more for the title 'Manda's Next Mission Model Cycle 2'!

Giselle, you never failed to impress us with your tasks. You improved so much and you always were on top. Your semifinal tasks were amazing and you proofed once more that you deserve your place here at MMM. Do you think we will give you another chance in the Great Finale? Exactly, you are right! You are our second finalist! Congrats, you will be in the Finale aswell!

Now, nex to to Flora and Giselle we still have tWo other competitors waiting for their decision. Unfortunately just one of them will enter the Great Finale as third finalist.
Virginia and Beth...you both were good contestants, both of you deserved their place at MMM, but also both of your tasks couldn't always suceed us by 100%, also in the semifinal you didn't show us all the potential you got. We often ask us if you can show us more, we're missing the pepper in the soup, the special kick. Something that makes your tasks unique and special. Now we question us, who of you deserves another chance in the Great Finale and who do we think can keep up with Flora and Giselle when it's about who will win MMM Cycle 2.
We've come to a decision and the well deserved third finalist will be...Beth, Congrats! You will have the chance to fight with Flora and Giselle in the Great Finale for the title 'Manda's Next Mission Model'! Virginia don't be too sad, you were a great contestant, the decision was really tight, if we could take four people into the Great Finale we definitely would!

So everyone the decision is made, we have our three finalists and they are all amazing!

The Final tasks will be posted very soon! Stay tuned, they are going to be awesome.
Have a wonderful evening,
Manda
