The Final Tasks

Hey there everyone,

finally after 17 weeks the time has come to post the final tasks for our three remaining contestants. I am really excited and I cannot wait to view your entries, also I can tell you the live Great Finale is going to be amazing!
The official poster for the MMM Finale Cycle 2 will be out soon.

By the way there will be another poll for who you think deserves to win the second cycle of MMM. The poll will be released right after this post is published (the one with the biggest fanbase will get the most applause in the final).

Now let's take a look at your tasks:

Part 1: Ad Campaign

It's time to do an ad campaign, doing this you have not to add any slogans or logos, the product should speak for itself! You are going to do pose with a bag, named the gorgeous Skull Box Clutch by Alexander McQueen.

In the ad campaign the bag should stand in the focus, make them stand out of the shoot and they should match the outfit, the pose, the makeup and the rest of the graphic: fierce, powerful, crazy, extraordinary.
The clutch doesn't need to have the exact pattern and color of the ones, which are shown in the picture, the shape is the important thing.
Don't forget, your expression should match the theme and the clutch has to be the eyecatcher.

Part 2: Runway Task Prêt-à-porter

So, we didn't do a runway task for long now and we didn't do anything related to prêt-à-porter, which means casual, but still chic. Now I want you to create a prêt-à-porter look and to present it on the runway, which has to fit the current sommer trends and scheme.
The pose, which can be walking or end pose, should underline the outfit and you should create a nice and matching atmosphere and catwalk!

Part 3: Editorial Shoot

Just like last year this is the special gold part of the final tasks.
Each one of you has to portray herself as an iconic character of the current music culture by recreating expression, pose, outfit, look from the given music video.
The background and atmosphere are indeed important, such as the other aspects named above.
Be creative!

Beth/pavlovagurl as Marina & The Diamonds

Flora/Missflora9 as Lana Del Rey

Giselle/Aeon_Flux_96 as Lady Gaga

Okay that's it girlies!
I wish you lots of fun while creating these tasks and I can't wait to see them!

Your final Deadline for the Finale Tasks is:
Monday, 30th June 2014.

If there are any problems with the deadline or if you need more time please tell me!
Good Luck my finalists!

Results The Semifinal Tasks

Hey everyone and welcome to your 6th elimination ceremony,

the time has come to to decide who did the biggest developments throughout the cycle and who deserved to be one of the 3 finalists in the Great Finale of MMM Cycle 2!
Pretty exciting isn't it? ;)

These are the results of our follower's votes:

So we see the majority voted for Giselle (Aeon_Flux_96) and Flora (Missflora9), which makes them the two semifinalists with the biggest fanbase, also we've got a tie here. Virginia (Rei1981) reached 8 votes and unfortunately Beth (pavlovagurl) could only reach 3 votes in total, which makes her the one with the smallest fanbase.

Now I don't want to waste any more time.
Beth, Flora, Giselle and Virginia. Now it's your turn and I'll announce the judgements.

We will start off with Beth and go on in the alphabetical order.

The cover is really nice, it's fresh and summer-y, I also really like the layout of the page and also the outfit is actually nice, but I would have taken another print for the skirt. The hair is gorgeous and the face is really cute. I also enjoy the color scheme you've choosen for the overall cover.
Your makeup commercials are good, I really see that you improved your skin shading, which is great! I personally prefer the lavender version, because you look totally faboulus in here. On a less positive note we already reached the semifinal and it's time to create your own hair!
Your style guide is lovely, the outfit is cute, but I'm not a fan of the boots. All in all I love your floral interpretation with the white tee.

Rafael: Ooh your cover is so lovely! I love it, the pose is nice, the outfit looks great and I love the hair! I also like the fact that you are smiling for the cover.
I like your lipstick commercial, especially the slogan, but I think you could have done better. The skin shading is rather simple, the hair is also quite weak and the lipstick itself is blurry.
The style guide graphic on the other hand is great again! Love the shorts, the pose is great and I like the overall flowery theme going on here. Well done Beth!

I LOVE your color scheme, it makes the cover look young and fun to read. The layout is good, too, apart from the black text covering your doll and the texts sound interesting. The skin shading is great and I like the pose. The hand has got three and a half fingers and two and a half nails and the lipstick doesn't go with the rest of the outfit. The hair is an edited stardoll hair which is an absolute NO-GO in a semi-final task. This could have been my favourite cover along Giselle's but you didn't take enough time for the graphic.
I like that you chose dot, the slogan is very cool and the strong lipstick colours fit your doll. The poses and the skin shading are very good in both ads and the makeup fits the lipstick. But why did you use stardoll hair in the one graphic? It makes the graphic look very beginner-like. The hair in the second ad is not good either, a more voluminous hair style would have covered the huge area of bare skin we see now. Overall, great ads with horrible hairstyles!
I like your girly look and the pose, the t-shirt works well with the shorts. I'm not 100% sure of the shoes, but the bag really ruins the nice look. The flowers are a great idea, but the colors aren't doing the outfit any good. Apart from the back, a nice outfit presented very welTania: I really like the cover, very summery alike, the range of colours go pretty well with each other, theres some harsh lines though that Id really like so see them fixed and also some more shading in the clothes.
The first makeup ad seems a bit rushed and awkward, Id like to see an hair of your own as well though the idea and pose are pretty cool. As for the second I think its better, while simple your doll is just gorgeous on it.
I really like the outfit, very summery again and feminine as well, I really like how you styled the shirt with a print, it really makes the whole outfit pop. Well acessorized as well, though I mighy go for another bag, it seems a bit off considering the range of colors and textures.

Manda: Your cover is indeed an eyecatcher, your doll looks super happy and glamorous. The outfit is a real fashion statement and I like the turquoise leo print. It's a shame the quality and skin shading is really blury, which reduces the enjoyment to look at the cover.
Your makeup commercials are great, I like that you went for two very different looks and thats a really clever way to advertise a makeup brand/product. The first one is really cute and somehow a day makeup, the second one is fierce and a makeup for night.
The outfit you went for in the stlye guide task is okay,it's not my full taste, maybe if you would have removed the belt, would take a casual bag and some cool shoes or maybe boots it would have looked way better.
All in all some good entries.

Rafael: Oh, lovely cover! I really love your smile; you look so fresh and fun. The pose is very experimental and I think it's great to see that you didn't go for a rather simple pose (like standing there, hands and your hips and so on) but you really chose a more difficult pose and that's great! Well, the shading could have been slightly better to make it look even more appealing, but it's alright. And woooow, look at that long hair! That's so sexy I'm not very fond of that font (lol that rhymed), it actually destroys the beauty of the cover a bit.
I like your make-up commercial a lot, especially the second photo! While the first one is rather romantic, this one looks so posh and glamorous. Love it!
The style guide is a simple but steady outfit. It's not the best, but also not the worst. Well done Flora!

What happened? The layout isn't very thought through as there are only 3 texts randomly placed over your doll and the turquoise doesn't work well with the other colours. Your outfit is ok, but the pattern on the skirt isn't the same size in all parts of the skirt which is very confusing. Your shading is good, some parts might have looked better with a darker shading, but there are no visible shading mistakes. Luckily, your hairstyle is nice and your doll looks very happy and sympathic. All in all, I've seen much better work from you.

I love your Transform ads, tey are my favourites! You worked well with different colours and made your doll look very natural despite the makeup. With the two ads, you showed us both day and night makeup which was a clever idea, so well done!
You look very grownup and elegant yet casual in your outfit. I love the skirt, the simple accessories and the hairstyle that adds a pop of color. You used a stardoll hairstyle, which is not perfect, but as this task was to combine a stardoll shirt, I guess that's ok as the hairstyle fits the outfit very well. In my opinion the best styled outfit!

Aw I love the cover! Your doll looks so fresh and happy; it at once makes me happy too! I love the outfit you chose, fierce but super elegant and fitting, and the hair go super well with it.
While I totally love the pose, it's be perfect if you'd lean back a bit your doll or maybe just looking a bit more up would help.
The makeup is fierce dolly elegant! I'd buy this makeup for sure; it feels so feminine and attractive in that way! The hair again is so beautiful and how you did the makeup is perfect.
I tell you your 2nd makeup is very nicely done but also you made it very attractive and in that way super sellable. I love the makeup, how you did the hair & clothes, all fits very perfectly, the only thing I would might add would be a darker smoky eye, though how you did it goes well anyhow.
Girl I'm starting to feel awkward to say this all the time but again you did it! You styled your outfit amazingly and in such elegant and feminine way. Love the colors and that awesome hour glass shape, the hair is gorgeous and the makeup really gives the final touch.

Manda: I absolutely love love love your cover! It's truly perfection, the hair is gorgeous, the dress is amazingly shaded and the color scheme is awesome. Your face is beautiful.
Beautiful makeup commercials, I love that you did two shoots for the same makeup product, I adore the dress or top or whatever in your commercials, the shading is really great. I think the shading of the hair in your first commercial is better than in your second one.
Your style guide outfit is my favorite out of all, the leather jacket and the boots are shaded perfectly once again.
Great job dear Giselle.

Rafael: This. Is. PERFECTION! Giselle, your cover is so flawless; I was totally slayed when I first saw it. Flawless shading, the font is perfect and I love the color scheme! Nothing more to say.
I also like the commercial for Transform, love the background and the whole scheme (which makes up for the fact that you have used the same hand TWICE ... ahem!!).
The style guide is just so amazing. Love the outfit, love the pose and I love the shading! I'm living for those shorts and jacket!! Overall, I'd say your cover shoot is the best out of all tasks and it's nice to see how much you have improved, I am so proud of you!!

Your cover is my absolute favorite! At first glance, there are no differences to a normal Cosmo, the layout is similar and very stylish! The texts are placed at the same parts of the cover and you used two colours that work very well together. Your pose and outfit have a young, stylish touch and the shading is close to perfection. My only concern is the lack of makeup and face shading. Very well done! I love the background of your ads, usually the colour combination is horrible but you made it look good. The graphics themselves are definitely not  your best works in this cycle, maybe even some of the worst. In a closeup, skin shading is a must and you didn't even use any makeup apart from lipstick and mascara. The hair colour isn't working well with the background but the hairstyles are nice. Now to the most important thing, the lips. At first glance, they didn't seem to belong to your doll because they are so huge and shaded very differently than the rest of the graphic. Apart from the fact that they don't fit your face very well, they remind me very much of those Jack posted at the Graphic Vault some time ago ( In a competition, you should do everything on your own and not claim other work as your own, even if you changed it a bit. I'm disappointed.
Your look is very masculine with the boots and the leather jacket which is in trend at the moment. The outfit itself is nice, just like the pose and the technical aspect, but it would've looked much better with another, more voluminous hairstyle and a stronger makeup. Your hairstyle and makeup are girly and simple which doesn't go well with the strong outfit. Nevertheless a good graphic!

Cover shoot This is surely my favorite cover, it is perfection! The shading could not be any better, the dress is so well done that is crazy, and the hair (color & style) fit your doll skin tone awesomely.
Cutie with a pixie! Simple but I like it, though I'd might change a bit the background, while your face attracts me into buying the lipstick, the plain background puts me a bit off.
About your 2nd makeup shot, same as I mentioned above (well now without the pixie part but the bob haircut really gives an elegant touch).
While I do like a lot the upper part (leather jackets go really well with white tees), I'm not totally surely about the shorts and boots. The shorts is actually the color, hale half of it stands out, the other is overlapped by the whiteness of the shirt, so I think maybe on color shorts would flow the best with this outfit. As for the boots, while they're super stylish, I feel like they don't go along all the rest: you've a bit summerish vibe, while the boots are more for the winterish side. I'd maybe go for some gladiator sandals or alike. But overall very nice outfit, it shows character and your own style, which is super important at this point of the competition

Manda: I like the cover a lot! The skin shading is nice and the pose is really sexy and playful, the layout is nice, but a paler background would have looked nicer. I actually like the hair but I would have went for a sexier style.
Your makeup commercials are average. The first one is actually nice, the pose is lovely and the makeup is sensual. The hair is okay, boring but shading-wise fine, the collarbone is absolutely awkward though. Unfortunately i don't like your 2nd makeup commercial at all, your doll looks super masculine and the hairstyle doesn't help that a lot. Also the garish red background doesn't fit here at all. I'm slightly disappointed here.
Your style guide doesn't make it better. It's my least favorite outfit, i just feel like it's not really right. Those shoes and pants don't really complement the top and jacket. Also your doll looks once more really masculine and not in a good way. I don't like the hair cut at all.

Rafael: Well, let's start with the positive: I really like your cover! The skin shading is amazing and I also like the dress and that sexy pose. The hair isn't much of my favor, but all in one it's a nice shot.
Well ... and then somehow it gets worse. I don't know but your ad campaign looks totally rushed, like, there's absolutely no concept behind it. It's just simple (if not boring) head shots, and you definitely stayed in your comfort zones considering the hair and make-up. Sorry but I don't like it at all!
The style guide doesn't blow me away either, but I definitely love the rocker girl theme going on here. Some heavy black boots would have been more fitting, though.

Cathy: You went for a very seductive cover and you indeed look sexy! I'm not at all a fan of the finger-to-mouth-pose, it's not something I'd like to see on a serious magazine cover. The dress is nice and fits the overall colour scheme. The shading is nice, but the light seems to come from multiple directions because the shadows in the arms are on opposing sites. Overall, a good graphic that could be a great Cosmo cover with another pose. Your ads are kept very simple both in the fore- and background. I prefer the one with the light background, it has a minimalistic touch to it and the makeup looks good. I find the other one horrible, the red is hurting in the eye and your doll looks like a male doll with a feminine touch. If you advertise a mascara that doesn't mean that this is the only makeup you are allowed to use. The shading is very choppy in both graphics, especially in the neck area, and the hair is too simple. Your graphic looks very rushed, the hands have no nails, the collarbone is very blurred and, again, you chose a short, masculine hairstyle. The combination of the top, the necklace and the jacket is fine, but the pants and the shoes don't look good combined with each other. Your pose idea is nice but it seems as if your doll was falling soon. The background is very cool.

You look so amazing in the cover, the shading is really perfect, the dress & hair you chose really give you a great glow and go super well with each other! The color range is super feminine and fierce, the text is very nicely put together, reminds me of a real cover. I don't have much to say though, it's an awesome work as I knew you'd make.
Makeup So simple, yet so captivating it! I really love how you put all together, it just works so well. The shading is great, your doll looks so dreamy that totally catches my eye for a long time. I'd surely buy that lipstick.
Your 2nd makeup...I like it. While the first one is surely my favorite, this one is gorgeous as well. The only thing I'd might change is the background color, it feels it's a bit off and not going so well with the rest of the color range. I love the pixie cut in your doll though, it really brings attention more to your face.
The Outfit is really nice, all goes well together with each other, the coat is a super statement piece that you used very well and without taking attention from the rest. I like how you added the heels since it gives a more elegant/ feminine look while being still edgy, and the accessories (necklace) while simple, it really makes the look complete.

The decision: Who will enter The Great Finale??

The moment has come to reveal our Top 3, the three finalists, who will stand live in the Great Finale, who will wear beautiful clothes and who will do many unique performances.
Now we are going to decide who did the biggest steps throughout the whole cycle and who of you could show us their potential once more.

After a long talk and many discussions and arguements we've come to a decision.

Play the music to underline the final elimination.

Flora, you have been a very good contestant throughout the whole competition. In the beginning I can remember you didn't really stand out of the crowd, you kept restrained and your tasks weren't that of a big deal, but after a short time you became better and better, you climbed up the ladder and reached one of the top stairs. Flora I have to tell you that your semifinal entries were great and you could convince us once more. Flora you are our first finalist!! Congrats, you will have the chance to fight once more for the title 'Manda's Next Mission Model Cycle 2'!

Giselle, you never failed to impress us with your tasks. You improved so much and you always were on top. Your semifinal tasks were amazing and you proofed once more that you deserve your place here at MMM. Do you think we will give you another chance in the Great Finale? Exactly, you are right! You are our second finalist! Congrats, you will be in the Finale aswell!

Now, nex to to Flora and Giselle we still have tWo other competitors waiting for their decision. Unfortunately just one of them will enter the Great Finale as third finalist.
Virginia and both were good contestants, both of you deserved their place at MMM, but also both of your tasks couldn't always suceed us by 100%, also in the semifinal you didn't show us all the potential you got. We often ask us if you can show us more, we're missing the pepper in the soup, the special kick. Something that makes your tasks unique and special. Now we question us, who of you deserves another chance in the Great Finale and who do we think can keep up with Flora and Giselle when it's about who will win MMM Cycle 2.
We've come to a decision and the well deserved third finalist will be...Beth, Congrats! You will have the chance to fight with Flora and Giselle in the Great Finale for the title 'Manda's Next Mission Model'! Virginia don't be too sad, you were a great contestant, the decision was really tight, if we could take four people into the Great Finale we definitely would!

So everyone the decision is made, we have our three finalists and they are all amazing!

The Final tasks will be posted very soon! Stay tuned, they are going to be awesome.
Have a wonderful evening,

Sunday, 18 May 2014

The Semifinal Tasks

Hello everyone and welcome to the Semifinals,

It's really exciting that we are already in the Semifinal Tasks and reached week 14.
I cannot wait to see all your beautiful entries.
Now it's about who will enter the Great Finale so give your best, girlies!

Just like last year there will be a poll, where you can vote for your favorite contestant to be in the Finale. You can find the poll on the side-bar. You can only vote once.
So you're right. This week's decision counts 50% by the judges and 50% by the the audience (out of the votes from the poll).
The Top 4 are allowed to promote for themselves.
The voting will be opened until the deadline ends!

Before I will announce the tasks I want to publish the winner of the week from task 5.
, Missflora9 and Rei1981 had the chances to win it and the one who convinced us the most and just surprised us with her tasks is...Missflora9! Congrats for winning winner of the week for the 2nd time. Something is waiting for you in my bazaar. ;)

Okay, now let's move on to the Semifinal tasks.
You have to manage 3 different parts/tasks.

Part 1: Magazine Cover Shoot

Every Topmodel needs to know how she has to look like on a Magazine Cover and how she needs to portray herself.
Like last year in the first part, you have to create a Cosmopolitan Magazine Cover with yourself on it, try to spot with your beautiful smile or seduce with a sexy, arrogant expression.

Part 2:  Makeup Commercial with Two Shoots

Again a commercial, but this time you have to do a makeup commercial.
Make two commercial shoots for the same store. Choose one makeup store out of stardoll's starplaza. Use the makeup of the store you want to advertise for. You don't have to create a slogan but show the makeup's logo.
Add a matching hairstyle, pose and background!

Part 3:  Style Guide

For this task I will give you a piece of basic clothing and you have to style it. Just make it your own. In the end it should be a cool, casual look so that the tee doesn't look boring anymore, but fashionable and special. Take attention to a fitting hair, pose and setting (background, etc.)!!

This will be your clothing:

(it's a png file and it's white i hope you can see it)

Okay, that's it! I hope you will have fun with these tasks and good luck! Give your best.

Deadline: Monday, 26th May, 2014.

I'm really excited to see your entries!
Have a wonderful sunday,

Yours Manda

Results Task 5

Hello everyone,

welcome to your 5th elimination ceremony. Now we will see who is going to enter the semi finals!!! You can be excited, I am for sure! Beautiful tasks are waiting for you and for sure at the end of the cycle an awesome live Finale!

Here are your results of task 5...

Manda: First of all, your rain shoot is the best out of all entries! It's near perfection. The shading of the clothing is amazing and same about the hair. The hair looks really soft and indeed wet! Thumbs up for that. Same about the clothing, that kind of shading is really good, it has a nice shimmer so that is gives it a wet look, too. Everything in the graphic works perfectly with eath other. My absolutely favorite has to be the KENZO sweater. The color is really nice and it's absolutely the eye catcher. Also the background was a great choice.
Your hair commercial unfortunately isn't as strong as your rain shoot. As you are making an ad for a shampoo you should have given the hair a sparkly, somehow shimmery touch, so that it makes the hair look soft, clean and alive. The color and the way you shaded the hair is rather boring and it looks somehow emotionless and dead. On a better note your doll looks very spotless and elegant in here. Also your product has a gorgeous design and its shaded really good! It looks very healthy and it has a nice Juicy Green Apple smell! The slogan isn't my cup of tea, it's a wee bit cliché. All in all you did a gorgeous performance with your entries this time.

Rafael: Wow, your rain shoot is a really strong entry! Definitely one of my favourites. I love the outfit, especially the sweat and the shoes. I'm also very fond of the filter you have used for the background, it adds a nice effect and makes it look rainy.
For the hair commercial ... well, I like it, but I'm a bit on the fence since the font is kinda distracting and it doesn't make the campaign/product look "exclusive". The hair shading is quite nice, but I don't really like the colour, it rather looks boring. But I must say that your product is the best of them all, it looks very great and healthy and like something an expert would recommend to you!! Overall I'd say you did a nice performance!

Cathy: I LOVE your first part of the task! The sweater is gorgeous, the shading is underlining the rainy weather and you look fierce and.... Very well done! On a second note, I noticed the masculine shoulders you seem to have on this sweater but that's just a very minor issue. Keep on your good work!
As much as I love the first part of your task, I am disappointed by the second part. The advertisement is very pale and not interesting. The hair is shaded well but your doll doesn't look happy - so why should I as the consumer buy that shampoo? The slogan is ok but nothing special and not related to the graphic. For the whole task my thumbs are still up because of the amazing rain shoot but this part of the task isn't as good.

Tania: Dat sweater! But seriously, not only the sweater but the whole outfit, it's perfect! So stylish and the overall shading so good, surely one of my favourite entries! Makeup is totally fierce and the background just awesome, also it's very nice that you were aware of your doll being in the rain and in that way chanced the colours a bit.
I'm really happy Manda chose Hair Commercial as a task, in that way you all are changing lots of creativity and we can see better your pretty faces!
I love the lucious hair, awesome shading and overall a commercial that would want me want to buy 'Flux', great work!

Manda: I love the fact that you are improving so much! The outfit of your rain shoot is really nice, the shading is good, even though it could be much more detailed and clean. The hair is probably my favorite part of the graphic, the shading is really nice and the style fits the city theme perfectly. But what I really dislike about your graphic are the too thin arms, which look quite unhealthy. That background is gorgeous btw.
Your hair commercial is great! I actually like it more than your rain shoot, you look so fierce and diva like. The hair color is beautiful and the hair is amazing!! The idea of doing the body nude is great aswell, but the boobs and the rest of the body aren't shaded very well, the shading is really blurry and hardly visable. Your product looks good, the shading looks very real. The slogan is nice, it underlines the product, but the font and color are really distracting from the main product. I like the idea of underlining the exotic color and the jungle slogan with a picture from the tropics.

Rafael: Wow, where should I start? I'm very overwhelmed by your fast improvement. You keep getting better and better with every single task! I like your rain shoot a lot, there's a lot of detail in the trousers and I like the overall look, such as the filter for the background (which makes it look like a comic though, but hey, I'm a Marvel fan :D). I also like the boots. I like the fact that you did the hair on your own for this photo and I like the result, but I like the hair on the commercial a lot better since it has a higher quality.
Speaking of your commercial, I like the idea but I'm not so keen on it, though. I mean the hair looks gorgeous (even though I believe its mostly from Stardoll?), but the skin shading looks very smudges and the background doesn't fit with the rest very well. I'm also not a big fan of the font you have used. Anyway, if you keep improving as fast like this and if you find a way to use the technique of the hair in your commercial for the rest of your shading, I'm sure you'll make it far in this competition. Overall I'd say it's not one of the best entries, but still the best I've seen from you! Well done and keep going!

Cathy: You keep on improving from task to task, Hilmy! The boots and the jeans are stylish and well shaded and the top is good, too. I'm not a big fan of the backpack and the much too thin arms. The hair looks quite realistic which is a huge step forwards compared to your previous work. My main issue with your entry is the rain. If you didn't write below which graphic was with rain, it would've taken me some time to notice. The background is nice but where exactly is the rain?
As you might now, I'm a big fan of the French language and your slogan is NOT french. A rebel is "rebelle" and "Rebellé", your product (is it a hair colour?), would sound very strange when pronounced. Nonetheless, I like the relation between the slogan and the background of your graphic, the fit very well. I would've chosen another colour because, firstly, pink and green don't fit so well and, secondly, pink isn't a colour associated with jungle. The graphic itself is amazing, I can't believe you've done the hair on your own, very well done! Apart from the slogan and the choice of colour a very good task!

Tania: You've improved so much, I still remember your first graphics and wow! So after saying that I must say as well that the game is pretty high here at the moment, and even though what I just said, most of the other competitors if not all are already more 'advanced'. The hair shading is very nice, and the other parts with some more shading would be awesome.
Dat hair gurl! I really love the shading & colour, also how you did the roots, so overall very nice entry!

Manda: Your rain shoot is amazing! Your pose is so dynamic, your hair is really empowering and your outfit is so edgy and casual. The jeans is shaded perfectly! Also your background was a really nice choice.
Your hair commercial is my personal favorite, it's near the perfection. Everything matches to each other and the color you've choosen looks so sunny and shiny. Your makeup is wonderful and also your background really fits the sunny scheme and your bright hair color. The slogan is really clever, seeing the aspect that you took a somehow exotic color. The hair has a gorgeous shimmer and it looks really smooth and soft. Nice product aswell. The thing you could still work on is the skin shading, it is still a bit blurry and the highlighting of the skin is almost too shiny. Try to make clear distances and differences (transparency) between the several shading/highlighting layers. But all in all you managed to show us your best entries of the whole cycle. Well done.

Rafael: I really love your rain shoot. It looks cool and edgy, the hair looks great and I just love those jeans and boots!
In my opinion your hair campaign is the best one out of all entries! I absolutely love it, the hair has a vibrant shiney colour, the slogan (+ font) fits perfectly and I love the overall colour scheme! Well done sweety.

Cathy: The quality of your graphic is stunning, you've improved a lot in the last 2 tasks! I especially like the texture of the jeans and the jacket. Your pose is something rather new for a photoshoot, which is cool, but something went wrong with the proportions. If your legs were the same length, the left leg would not touch the ground. Other than that, a cool graphic that follows the given criteria. Very well done!
That hair colour is amazing! The setting you chose fits perfectly and the slogan makes me want to buy that hair colour. The hair flows well although some parts are blurry. I'd use more layers for the skin shading at a close-up and please avoid blurring your skin shading like you did at the right arm. Despite a few shading flaws an amazing graphic with a catching theme and slogan!

Tania: I'm so proud of you! Again an aweseom task, I love the shading, pose and background, you've improved so much! I cannot point out anything bad, maybe some little corners should be softened but nothing big compared to the overall. So yep as I said awesome work, I'm loving the shading and your doll's face.
As for the hair commercial, oh la la! I love it, it must have given you so much work since the shading is absolutly perfect (and overall as well, als the makeup and face shading is on point)! Good work dear.

Manda: I really like your rain shoot! The outfit is super cool and I would alo definitely wear it by myself. The jacket is my favorite out of the outfit, its shaded really good! The shoes are a bit undetailed, but still okay. I really love the hair in this shoot by the way! The pose is super cool.
Unfortunately Your hair commercial isn't as nice as your rain shoot. The hair looks really nice at some places but it also looks very edged and pointed at other bits of the hair. I'm also missing the makeup, though maybe you wanted to give a natural apperance, so I'm okay with it. The slogan is nice. It's sad that you've put the shampoo really small in the pretty last corner of the left side. You can barely see it, even though it's so nice!
Rafael: I simply love your rain shoot! The photo looks perfect to me! I love the casual pose, the make-up, the hair and especially the outfit. Shading wise I don't have much to complain about, just that the shoes could need some more details.
The hair commercial on the other hand is rather simple, plain and ... well, boring. It's a shame that the product almost drowns in this advertisement. It's so little and one can barely see it. Girl, how you wanna advertise that? I also would have liked to see more skin shading and some make-up.

Cathy: Your rain shoot is ok. I love the idea with the lantern and the pose, but I'm not a big fan of the outfit. The rgaphic quality is good but there's missing something special that makes me remember the graphic. I can't descrobe what that would have been, maybe a pop of colour would've helped.
Your hair commercial is cool, very reduced but beautiful. The hair looks like the "hair you've always desired" (great slogan) although it is still choppy in some parts but we all know how complicated it is to master hair shading. My only big concern is the product. Which product? After a few seconds, I found it in the lower left corner. It is small but beautiful. The problem is that ads are made to advertise a product and therefore the product has to be visible at first glance. otherwise a good work.

Tania: Gorgeous entry! While the pose seems some hard to do, you did a great job with it, the shading is gorgeous and the whole look in itself (also the makeup) in on point. I feel like something is missing a bit though, I can not really grasp it but great job either way!
The hair is super fab! The shading is gorgeous and the colour of it really suits your skin tone. The bottle is super cute as well, simple commercial but very nice again.

Manda: First of all I love the setting in New York! The rain looks somehow really nice. You know the outfit isn't my personal favorite, but I see the point that you wanted to do something different, that portrays joy and fun. I like it! My favorite thing in your rain shoot has to be the umbrella! Virginia, maybe still work on the shading! It sometimes looks like plastic or plasticine (e.g. your sweater).
The hair commercial could've been way nicer!! The font doesn't look good, the color is too garish and same for your product, which doesn't even tell you what it is. The slogan itself is very nice. On a more positive effect I love your hair! It has a beautiful flow in it and its really smooth and soft. It somehow looks like a sea of chocolate! So thumbs up for your hair but thumbs down for the color choice of the slogan and the product.

Rafael: That looks like it's HEAVILY raining in New York, haha! I think the photo is lovely, I love the pose, it's original and something I haven't seen among the others. The outfit and the shading is superb. The hair doesn't look so great but I guess that's because it's wet! I'm a huge fan of your umbrella by the way *-*
The hair commercial ... well, I don't really like the font and the product is rather little. I personally wouldn't recommend it to my friend if there wasn't this amazing advertisement of yours. I mean, if it really does these effects to one's hair like in your shoot then every woman should use it. I love the flow of your hair, it's so shiny, sleek and smooth. In my opinion you have a very strong entry this time!

Cathy: Your rain shoot looks fun! Maybe that's because of the bright boots, maybe because of your doll's pose which is great. The background and the rain look very authentic and I like your doll's outfit and pose. The shading seems good at first glance but when taking a look at the version without the rain and the background, it looks blurred and undefined. But it's definitely an improvement from the last task and I like the overall graphic a lot. Well done!
I don't understand what you are advertising. It could be a shampoo, a hair colour, a conditioner, ... The slogan sounds nice but the ad as a whole isn't. The product which should be the main focus is very small and you didn't put much work in it. The hair is nice, a bit too blurred in my opinion, but still nice. Sadly, the skin shading makes you look like a ghost. All in all, not an ad but a beauty shot.

Tania: Wow, difficult pose, I'm really happy you dared either way and to be honest, I like it quite a lot! A couple of areas would have been a bit nicer with some more shading and outer lining but overall I think you did a great job, and again I'm happy anf proud you dared. Nice colours, nice doll and nice outfit!
I'm loving all this volumous and lucious hairs! The shading is absolutely perfect and it fits your doll so well. I like the slogan as well, also I think the pink background makes your dolls features pop up.

The decision: Who will enter the Semifinal?

Now it's time to tell you who will enter the Semifinal and who won't. You all became really good and strong, it was really hard for us to decide who has to leave. We would love to take you all into the next round, but this is a competition and the rules tell us something else.

The first ones who will enter the Semifinal are... Giselle, Flora and Virginia!!! Congrats! You two also have the biggest chances to win winner of the week (Task 5).

In our Bottom Two are Beth and Hilmy. Beth, your tasks didn't show your full potential, they still lacked in quality and extraordinarity. They don't stand out of the crowd. While your rain shoot was actually quite good, your hair commercial was a total failure. But could you convince us to give you another change in the Semifinal nevertheless? Hilmy, you improved a lot, but you still don't convince us by 100%. We already reached the Semifinal and we start to question ourselves how much time you still need to reach the high standards of all the other remaining contestants. We know that you are on the right track, but is that enough to keep in the competition? ...The one who will have another chance to fight for the title Manda's Next Mission Model Cycle 2 is Beth, Congrats. Hilmy, this means you are eliminated this time, I'm so sorry. You were great and we are happy to see that you improved so much.
Congrats to all the others, who made it into the Semifinal!!!!

The Semifinal tasks will be posted still today, so stay tuned!! They will be amazing.
Our 4 Semifinal contestants are Giselle, Flora, Virginia and Beth!

See ya later,
Manda x

The 5th Task + A New Contestant?

Hello dollies,

today I'm announcing the 5th task, but before that I want to welcome another contestant or better say: Welcome back Dreamiiiii! Alina wasn't able to send in her last task because of private and temporary cases, that's why we will give her the chance to come back to fight for the title. I'm sure you are questioning now if this changes something in the schedule concerning the Great Finale, but I can only say give your best this time, because maybe two contestants have to leave us after task 5.

So now I want to announce the winner of the week from Task 4. Aeon_Flux_96 and Missflora9 were the best this time. You both did a gorgeous job but we decided for... Aeon_Flux_96. Congrats, Giselle! You will get a beautiful clothing, which is waiting in my bazaar for you. Hope you will like it. :)

This time your 5th task will be two parts, so we can see who really has got the potential to win this competition and to go one round further...

Part 1: New York Rain Shoot
For this part we want to see your doll, wearing fashionable and casual Street Fashion, while she is standing in the rain in a lonely street in New York City. Create a graphic concerning these conditions and add a matching makeup that underlines the outfit and use a well fitting background.
Important: Rain!

Part 2: Hair Commercial
In this part we want to see how you advertise your hair for a special hair care product. Create a graphic where your doll and her hair is in the focus and add your own special hair care product, it can be shampoo or hair color or whatever you want.
Important: Create a catching slogan that underlines the product and your hair appearance.

Your Deadline for Task 5 is: Sunday, 27th April.
Good Luck to everyone, show us all your potential and give your best!

If there are any questions feel free to leave your question below in the comments.

Results Task 4

Hello everyone,

we're already the Top 7, because two contestants had to quit concerning temporary cases, but still there will be a decision today and one of you will leave us!
This by the way means we will reach the Top 6 today and then there will only be one more task until the Semifinals, followed by The Great Finale!! *-*
But before that... here are your results of the 4th task...

Manda: Wow Giselle, this one is really empowering! The pose is really fierce and you made a beautiful ob with the hair, it is very clear and flowy. Maybe you could detail it a bit more. Anyways it gives a very natural touch and absolutely suits the nymph. Additionately I'd like to mention that you are actually one of the first who really thought about the look of a nymph. That shimmery, scaly skin was a great idea to portray the water living creature. Also your makeup fits the theme perfectly! I'm just not very convinced by the choice of the background, maybe something more natural inspired would have been way better. Still one of the best entries!

Rafael: I am totally stunned. I'm like ... speechless. It looks so flawless! Your shading has improved sooo much, I'm so proud of you! I love the pose, the make-up and wow those breast!
I also like the idea of adding some green texture on the skin to make it look exotic and mystical. The hair looks great as well, maybe you can work a litte bit more on it so that it will look even more natural next time. I think this is one of the best entries, well done honey!

Tania: Wow that's so awesome, I really like your idea & the graphic in itself! I love the gliterish body and the super voluminous hair, the only thing I can point out is the harsh lines, the rest is just awesome.

Manda: The idea is really gorgeous! It's so mystical and fierce, I also adore the color scheme and your face and makeup definitely suit the nymph. If the hair and skin shading would be even more detailed and would fulfil your normal high standards this would have been a perfect entry, but unfortunately they are a bit rushed and they lack in depth. The background is great though!

Rafael: I just LOVE the idea of your photo. Very creative and very mystical, love it. Unfortunately the hair and skin shading haven't got the quality that we know from you. The hair doesn't actually look like hair, it rather reminds me of sea grass. But I absolutely love the water, so artistic. Nice idea and nice photo, but next time keep an eye on the detailed shading!

Tania: I think the idea in itself is so awesome, like totally! Some areas of the body could use some more shading as the hair, less rough edges, but I can tell you this, the pose & idea are amazing, and cause of that you're one of my fav graphics of this task.

Manda: Oh Hilmy, I am really happy that you have improved so much! I love the whole setting and idea, it is very sensual and seducing.. Your face and makeup look beautful in here, same about the hair, they all give a really heavenly and sexy look. The pose is also very nice. The things you still have to work on are for sure more detail in the skin shading and this hand looks really weird. Longer fingers and well shaded fingernails would have been nice. Improve even more, I know you can do it!

Rafael: Hilmy, it's nice to see that you have improved! It doesn't look like a total mess, which is good. I think you know that you still have to work a lot on your skin shading and especially on the hands. But in my opinion the hair looks quite nice and the result in general is very sexy and sensual, even though the quality isn't the best. I hope you'll keep improving fast like that!!

Tania: You've improved really a lot comparing to the last task! I really like the idea, pose & background, while there's some things that need to be improved, you're in the total right path, keep it up!

Manda: Leon I'm not quite sure what I should say about this. At once I see a very good, detailed skin shading and a beautiful makeup, but then I see a strangely proportioned head, neck and chest part. Also the blue-green layer, which is probably supposed to be water looks really weird. It looks like u just did it with paint. I'm so disappointed this could have been so good! I wish you would have found a wee bit more time, to finish this very nice pose and create a real looking water. It's so great that you improved but very sad that you also failed a lot.

Rafael: I don't get it. I JUST DON'T GET IT! The background, the blue-green-ish colour-layer .... No. Just No! Leon this would have been such a stunning entry because I really see some improvement in the bits that we actually can see of your doll. Lovely make-up, very detailed skin shading but then there's this ... it's just half a doll. You would have been so good at this, it's such a shame. I feel like spit in my face, this is such a disappointment. Instead of actually taking the time to do something great you just do this rushed piece of shame. I just don't get it.

Tania: Hm I really don't know what to say, I guess the blue cloud is suposted to be water like a lake or something but the background then? And the pose, the shading is unfinished and the head a bit awkward.. I can see cleary that you didn't put much time into it, and of course it's totally understandable considering all the exams you needed to make but I wish you could have found a bit more time for it anyhow.

Manda: Wow, this one is very beautiful! It's very well shaded, also the hair is nice, even though it is based on stardoll hair. The makeup is wonderful and the pose also really sensual. What I also love about your graphic is that everything is well proportioned. What you could improve about your entry is, that it isn't very nymph based, neither the background. It is a fantastic nude shoot, but barely something nymph based in it. Still it's one of the best entries.

Rafael: Wow, I love this shoot! I think it came out very professional. Everything looks so pure and clean! I like the pose a lot. I actually don't have anything to critisize, well done my dear!

Tania: I really like the pose, you did an awesome work with the shading of the hair& body and the make is at the point. The only thing I can point out actually, is that the graphic in itself is not really 'nymph' as the Task asked.

Manda: Virginia this could be a very nice entry, but there is barely any skin shading! It needs a lot more depth and more shading layers. Also the shading shouldn't be just single lines. I know you can do a lot better and i'm surprised by your weak skin shading. Also, just like Rafi mentioned, it's hard to visualize the single body parts, neither can I recognize any fingers or toes. On the first glance the hair looks very nice, but it's still not perfect. It's just the hair looks not exactly like plasticine, but also not really natural. Tt is very undetailed and needs more shading and depth! The highlighting is also way too bright. But I have to tell you the idea of the fairy-alike ears is really lovely! Maybe you can show us what you are able to in the next task.

Rafael: Oooh this one looks sooo lovely. Or at least it really would if there was more skin shading. In this case you actually have to guess where the seperate body parts are. It's like the hands are melted into the body. The chest looks quite flat and the hair looks rather choppy. I like the pose and the make-up and stuff, but this entry looks very tacky. I'm sorry, I think you could have actually executed very well this time. Unfortunately, you quite didn't. Too bad ...

Tania: I really like the pose and face & head shading but the body seems kinda unfinished? The idea of the elf was pretty nice but it seems it was a bit rushed and in that way not totally done.

Manda: I'm not quite sure about the skin shading, it doesn't look too bad, but it indeed looks very choppy. The idea of the technique is very nice, but the execution is weak. You should add more shading layers, with less transparent differences between the single layers. Also you should choose the layers more flattering that it doesn't look like edges, which seem very harsh. You did a really nice job with the hair, though. Maybe also here a bit more detail and less harsh edges.
All in all this is indeed a good entry, I see potential here, but you have to improve good ideas to great executions.

Rafael: Hmm ... I'm a little on the fence. On the one hand, it doesn't look too shabby. On the other hand, it does. I don't really like the pose, I also think that the shading is lacking of details. It seems a bit rushed. I'm also missing some shiny highlights.
I like the hair though ...
I don't know, it feels like this is a rushed 20-minutes piece which is a shame. Maybe it's really just that awkward pose that makes me feel uncomfortable when looking at this photo.
I think you have a lot of potential, please try to add more detail next time!

Tania: I think the body shading is just perfect, the best one from all the graphics of this task. The background goes really nicely with the pose, the neck area is a wee bit confusing for me and the hair has some harsh lines. But overall good work, awesome graphic.

The decision
Now it's time to decide who will enter the Top 6 and who has to leave us today.

The contestants who convinced us the most and have the chances to win winner of the week are Aeon_Flux_96 and Missflora9. Congrats! The winner of the week will be announced together with the the next task.
The two contestants who couldn't convince us as much as the others are emmahunt4 and MG286. I am really sorry, but we are still unsure about you. All the other contestants are for sure in the Top 6 and in the next round, Congrats! Hilmy and Leon, ee had to discuss a lot, it really took us a lot of time and that's why the results are also delayed by one day.
Leon, we see you have improved a lot throughout the whole competition, you grew with your graphic skill and we are proud to see you made these steps. Unfortunately at one point you failed to improve as much as the time wanted you to. Our question is if you can still keep up with the other contestants. Hilmy, also you did huge improvements. When we compare your first task to the new one there are big differences between them, but are these improvements still too low or could you convince us to give you another chance to fight for the title Manda's Next Mission Model? Or did you stay too long in your comfort zone?
Guys, we had a tough time discussing about you, but the one we want to give another chance is... Hilmy, congrats, you are allowed to enter the Top 6! Leon, don't be too sad, you were a wonderful contestant, continue modeling and maybe try it the next time again. :)

Again congrats to all who passed the Top 6!
The 5th task and winner of the week will be posted very soon, so stay tuned!

Yours Sincerely,
