Results Task 3

Hey my models,

I'm again very sorry for the very late elimination ceremony, but I'm doing my best but you know I have to wait for the other judgements and sometimes for some more entries of the contestants.
Moreover I'm busy with my own real life, so it's hard to find the time to post the results, but today it's time to reveal the 3rd decision.

Let's have a look at your tasks:

danika_19
Danger

Manda: Wow Kylie! This really shows Danger; it reminds me of a James Bond scene, like if you would sit on this gorgeous chair (love the chair legs) and would say something like "I've been waiting for you." You improved very much! I'm very satisfied with you this week. :) But pratice your graphical skills and mabye watch some youtube tutorials and your entries will be even better. Keep up the great work!

Rafael: I think you portrayed Danger pretty well. It kinda looks like a female mafia boss to me. I also love the sexyness in this photo. Your graphic skills could use some improvement, but other than that, I don't really have any complaint.

Kasey: I like the idea, but your execution was weak. The guns need more detail, but simple details like a highlight here or there. For the makeup, I would of gone with something dark and seductive. Basically, it needs work, but it's not the worst thing I've seen.

Cathy: You really improved! Your graphic is very fierce and hot, one of my personal favourites!
I especially like the legs of your chair.

Madness

Manda:
Mangun, this is so beautiful. The dress is so astonishing!! I just miss some green, deep red and pinky colors. But you made a wonderful task with your given value: Madness. I also love the inspiration idea (Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite movies and storys). You never fail to impress us. :)

Rafael:
Wow, I just adore this! I think portraying Madness as the "Mad Hatter" was a clever idea. I love the pose, the outfit, the make-up ... everything is pretty much perfect. Well done!

Kasey: I appreciate the reference to Alice in Wonderland, but I think you've could've included more color. I love the dress, but work on making your shadows and highlights more organized. Overall...beautiful!

Cathy: Taking Alice in Wonderland as inspiration for madness was a lovely idea! Your doll reminds me of the crazy hatmaker. Your graphic quality is very good as well as the idea, congratulations!
Sweet_gal11
Hate

Manda: To be really honest I'm not a very big fan of this. The atmosphere is matching your given sins Hate, but I don't know if you portrayed Hate very well and I actually wanted you to make yourself feel Hate for someone or something. But I like the idea. A good try anyways. :)

Rafael: Your picture is very simple, yet I really like your idea. In my opinion you've done a great job in portraying the word Hate. Although it isn't as amazing or impressive as some other entries, it is still outstanding and that's what I like about it. But I would like to see you come out of your comfort zone and experiment with poses.

Kasey: I like the idea, almost like it's taunting her. However, I feel this isn't so much hate, as it is mockery. The makeup idea is pretty cool. She looks pretty beaten down, but the overall feel isn't hate. Sorry.

Cathy: Your task is very different from the others. I like the idea of putting words related to hate into your graphic. But what disturbs me is the fact that you doll looks more than a victim of a hate attac. Your task was to portray yourself matching to the value hate, so I'm not 100% sure whether you followed the task.

Fear
Manda: *yawn* Hilmy, Hilmy. I know you try to give your best with every task, but this is just plain boring. Your sins was Fear and this reminds me of a dramatic eyelashes surcharge for a mascara campaign. I wanted your doll screaming, crying, near a nervous breakdown. Idk if the journey ended for you now.

Rafael: I think this is one of the weaker entries. I don't really get the point of your sentence, nor do I really like the graphic. If there weren't tears on the doll's face, I probably wouldn't have guessed that you had to portray Fear. And please, if you can't do hair, then at least use dress-up hair or something because yours looks awful - sorry for being so direct. I'd suggest you to watch other graphic designers and how they do their hair, that might help you. I think you've reached your limits, but I still hope it isn't over for you now as I'd love to see you improve.

Kasey: I'm sorry, but this isn't fear. If we saw some dark red eyes in the background surround by blackness and her eyes slightly to the side, it'd look better. Putting those hands there were just an awful idea because I always said that if you were meant to do graphics, you'd be dedicated to improve more. I actual feel that you've taken two steps back from the previous task. HOWEVER, the makeup is nice and the use of the color red is pretty okay.

Cathy: Your doll doesn't look scared if you ask me. Tears symbolize sadness and when I have to think of fear, I think of an opened mouth, wide opened eyes and so on. Besides, the quality of your graphic, especially the hair is improvable. Oh, and please take off all those fake lashes.
ExtravaganceSD
Envy

Manda: The idea was very nice and it was a good idea to go for the slogan "Green with envy", but the facial expression isn't very my cup of tea. I understand your idea, as if she was looking for new things, but this doesn't work with this pose. If the eyebrows would look kind of angry and the eyes wide opened (underlined with some gorgeous eye lashes) it would've been perfect. While looking at this I feel more of insidiousness or maybe pride. As Kasey mentioned, I usually like your entries very much but this week it isn't very appealing. A little step backwoards.

Rafael: I'm actually a little bit disappointed by this picture. I don't like the graphic as I've seen you do better. But I do like the expression on the face, so it isn't too bad.

Kasey: I don't really feel envy from this. There is so much green in this, that it's making me nauseous. I usually really like your work, but this week...ah-no.

Cathy: The general idea of choosing a saying (green of envy) for your graphic is really creative. But to my mind, you could have assembled your idea better. Maybe a very expensive diamond ring that you doll can't get would have been nice to show the envy even more. In this entry, your graphic quality was not so good at all, the dress looked very messy and blurred.

Pride

Manda: Let's start off with the good things. The uses of red lips and the raised had are well thought, but I just don't feel much Pride here. The pose is a bit boring and the facial expressions are weak. The graphic is very nice though. But I agree Cathy with saying "...your graphics often look similar. This time, you surprised me..." and so you followed the task with doing something very different. I know you can do way better, so do it nex time. ;)

Rafael: I so love your graphic, you've improved your skills quite a lot. I think you could have portrayed the Arrogance a bitt better but other than that, it's one of the better entries. Well done! :)

Kasey: I like your graphics, and the fact you went for something very difficult for your level is very impressive. Though it isn't a very well made graphic, it isn't bad. You've got some anatomy right, so that's good. If it was pride/arrogance that I was protraying, I would of made your doll look like she's smirking.

Cathy: Finally, your graphic doesn't have the typical "Carrie look". I don't know how to describe it, but your graphics often look similar. This time, you surprised me and although you still could have improved some parts (the arm shading, the shape of the hair, different nail polish), I really like it!

Sweetpiink1999
Love
Manda: Love was a wonderful value and I think you portrayed it nicely, even though I'm missing the real Love-Factor, if you know what I mean; something's missing. The graphic is lovely and the hair and makeup are very cute. The background is well choosen too. I love the reference to the Dior Commercial Miss Dior - La vie en rose. "But wait... what's this? Wait... I can't read it..." - this probably must have been our thoughts while looking at left corner below. Don't use black on intensive multi colors, a choose of white should have worked there. Nice entry. :)

Rafael: Your entry is oh so lovely! It definitely portrays young innocent love. Everything is so cute, lovely and adorable and I like the sentence you added to your graphic (although I couldn't read it properly). Well done!!

Kasey: Nice graphic, nice hair, nice makeup...But the hands need work definitely and the quote should be put in a bold color, like white because I could barely read it. Luckily I knew the quote, so I could fill in the gaps you left out. Your background is fuzzy and I dislike that majorly. Work on it, please.

Cathy: First of all, it's nearly impossible to read your text because of its colour. Now to the more important thing: your graphic. It is simple but beautiful. Nothing special but not ugly either. But it reminds me more of innocence than of love.
Jody_Cailin
Anger/Wrath

Manda: I don't really see Anger in this. At first your doll doesn't look angry at all, she's posing for the camera with some guns and that's all (btw this is a lara croft reference, isnt it? ;)). The idea was pretty genious (in thoughts of that you didn't copy from Kylie), the implementation was weak. Give your graphics some darker shadings and practice on depth. The highlighting is fine, I think.

Rafael: *sigh* I don't know what to say about that one. I can see anger in this, but I don't feel it. I think you couldn't portray this emotion well enough, maybe it's because your graphic isn't finished. It also reminds me a LOT of Kylie's entry. I'm not really a fan of your entry, it's actually one of the weakest to me. Come on, you can do so much better!

Kasey: It doesn't really portray anger, but the graphic is pretty well made and doesn't neccessarily look incomplete, so that's good. I think making her eyebrows darker and more slanted would of assisted in that theme of anger. Guns are a bit overrated for anger, so I probably would've done something a little more toned down. The dress is nice and so are the shoes. You should work on shading and depth. Look at other designers and how they shade and apply that to your own skills.

Cathy: Your graphic is fierce, edgy, cool, arrogant, ... But I just don't see anger in it, I'm sorry. Your doll poses far too much to be really angry. When I am angry, I cry, I shout, ... but I don't pose for the cameras. I admit that it is difficult to include this feeling in a model competition but you could've tried. From the technical aspect, your graphic is quite good but try shading the dress more and start shading your face to give it more depth.
AnneHattaway
Lust

Manda: A very nice entry and you did manage to show us a nice scenery with the sins Lust, which is totally seeable here. Moreover I have to disagree Cathy and have to agree Kasey with the use of the dollar notes. The idea is very smart and well thought. Moreover I don't think it looks cheap at all, it does look very sensual, sexy and elegant. ;)

Rafael: Wow, you managed to deliver us a good entry. Comparing it to your previous tasks, I can see your improvement. I like how this isn't a graphic but it still came out so great as a scenery. It portrays "Lust" more than well, so I can only applaud to you!!

Kasey: I'm soooo glad you didn't go for the who lingerie approach with this. Lusting after money is pretty original, so be proud. I'm also glad you didn't do a graphic. While graphics are nice and all, you're pretty different by doing a scenery. It's standing out from the crowd and that's always a good thing.

Cathy: I definitely see lust here! My favourite party has to be the skirt, it looks very elegant yet sexy. Some other parts aren't elegant at all and rather cheap than sexy unfortunately. The dollar notes are definitely at the wrong place, they make your scenery look cheap.
claragoosmann19
Gluttony
Manda: Definitely a step backwoards here. Even if you rush a graphic, at least try to make it look good and clean. This is just a polorised reference with your skin and face on it. But I like your idea and this is exactly what I was thinking of gluttony, too.

Rafael: Haha, I so love your graphic because this is also the first thing that came to my mind when thinking of gluttony. I don't really like the quality of the picture, it is probably because of the filter you've used. Nevertheless it's one very good entry!

Kasey: Great pose, not so nice execution. I'm glad you understand Gluttony, however, when you do graphics, I'd rather see plain colors than edited real life objects.

Cathy: Oh, what happened here? Your graphic is extremely rushed and much worse than your previous ones. The skin looks very blurred and the hair like a big amount of dust put upon your hair. Sorry for my harsh criticism, but i know that you can do better if you put more effort into your graphic.
ELIMINATED
Milana

Sexyness

Milana voluntarily left the competition but she anyways sent in her task.

Manda: This isn't sexy in any way, it's just cheap, but you probably know that on your own. :)
Hope you had a great time here and it was nice to have you in this competition!
Good Luck for your future modeling career. x

Rafael: It's so sad that you actually gave up. I don't even want to judge your photo, headshot or whatever it should be as I don't see it as a task entry. I rather see it as a Goobye-snapshot which is awful and sad at the same time. I wish you all the best, though.
Kasey: This is not sexy. End of story.

Cathy: I'm incredibly happy not that everyone thinks of sexyness as a synonyme of cheapness, just like you seemed to have done. Too much skin, too less fashion, too less posing.
The decision
If you followed the end of the elimination you probably noticed that Milana left, so there will be no leaver, choosen by the jury.
